We’re delighted you’re interested in The Lake Washington Sailing Club. We are a private social club run by volunteers for the purpose of promoting the pleasure of sailing and sailing related recreation. Membership in our club is easy and very affordable. However, applicants for membership must have a sponsor who is a current member of the club. If you do not know anyone in the club, please contact the Vice Commodore for information on how to obtain a sponsor. Upon receipt of the application, the application will be forwarded to the Vice Commodore for review, and then on to the Board and membership for a vote at the next scheduled regular meeting.  We encourage you to attend the meeting to introduce yourself, and to promote your application. Dues are not required until after approval of your membership.

Because we are a totally volunteer club, activities and maintenance are done with the volunteer labor of club members. Membership fees include a one-time only initiation fee, and annual dues. Members are asked to participate in the club’s activities (e.g., sailboat racing, workday, fun sails, summer sailing lessons), and are required to provide at least twelve volunteer hours per year. The annual dues are based upon the calendar year and are pro-rated depending upon when new members join.

Regular Members:

Available to persons 18 years old and older, who will participate in the affairs of the club, and are sponsored by a regular or honorary member.  Regular members have the right to vote and the privilege to hold office.  Regular members and their families have the right to use club facilities.  Regular members can have one secondary and five tertiary members associated with their account.  Secondary members can receive a separate username and password to log on to the website while tertiary members do not. There is an annual $2.50 administrative fee for secondary members; tertiary members are free.

Student Members:

Available to persons under 18 years old or of any age who is enrolled in school, college, or university for a course leading to a certification of graduation, who is a full time student, and who will participate in the affairs of the club.  Student members cannot vote or hold office.
